UV Mapping Tutorial

Postby adamsderk » Mon Apr 17, 2006 9:37 pm

Greetings,

I have finally finished the UV Mapper tutorial. Based on work of others (Hana and Punk), I do not believe this is the best way to texture models. However, it is "a way."

UV Mapping Tutorial

Thanks.

Well, to my knowledge, UV mapping has to be done regardless of texture method (yours or the HP render).

However...

Might the UV map be better done using the model, before its sliced?

FC,

The method I was referring to, was using UV Mapper instead of doing it natively in the modeling program. Modeling programs have some slick ways of doing UV maps.

Sure, you can UV before slicing as long as your modeling program doesn't change the UV coordinates on a mesh when it is cut into pieces.

Thanks.

The Wings UV Mapping program is a nightmare, so I have no idea. I was thinking of using the unsliced model in the UVMapper program.
